Job Description
REQUIREMENTS
- Proven experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms; familiarity with Quicken is a plus.
- Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles, non-profit accounting practices, and governmental accounting standards.
- Knowledge of GAAP guidelines, balance sheet reconciliation, journal entries, debits & credits, and double-entry bookkeeping.
- Ability to perform bank reconciliations, account analysis, and general ledger reconciliation accurately.
- Experience with payroll processing and tax compliance is preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail with proficiency in 10-key typing for data entry accuracy.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities including journal entries, account reconciliations, and ledger maintenance using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms.
- Perform bank reconciliations regularly to ensure accuracy of financial data and identify discrepancies promptly.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions efficiently while maintaining detailed records.
- Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Assist with payroll processing, tax filings, and compliance requirements for governmental and non-profit organizations.
- Conduct general ledger accounting tasks such as account analysis, double-entry bookkeeping, and general ledger reconciliation.
- Support budgeting processes by providing accurate data analysis and assisting in financial report writing.
