SENIOR POWER ENGINEER / HV ENGINEER

Job Description

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred)
• 7–15+ years of experience in power systems or high-voltage engineering
• Strong knowledge of transmission and distribution systems
• Experience with HV equipment such as transformers, circuit breakers, and GIS/AIS substations
• Familiarity with power system software (e.g., ETAP, DIgSILENT, PSCAD)
• Understanding of protection relays and SCADA systems

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design and review high-voltage systems (typically 11kV–400kV and above)
• Perform load flow, short-circuit, and protection coordination studies
• Develop and review single-line diagrams, schematics, and layout drawings
• Lead substation design, including transformers, switchgear, and protection systems
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards (IEC, IEEE, local grid codes)
• Conduct site inspections, testing, and commissioning of HV equipment
• Analyze system faults and implement corrective actions
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and project teams
• Coordinate with utilities, contractors, and stakeholders
• Prepare technical reports, specifications, and documentation
