Senior Planning & Cost Control Engineer

Job Description

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or related field)
• 8–15 years of experience in planning and cost control
• Strong knowledge of project management methodologies
• Proficiency in scheduling and cost tools (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Excel)
• Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP

RESPONSIBILITIES

Planning & Scheduling

• Develop detailed project schedules using tools such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project
• Define project scope, milestones, deliverables, and critical path
• Prepare baseline schedules and update them regularly
• Monitor project progress and identify potential delays

Cost Control

• Develop and manage project budgets and cost forecasts
• Track actual costs vs. planned costs and analyze variances
• Prepare cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and financial summaries
• Ensure cost efficiency and recommend corrective actions when necessary

Progress Monitoring & Reporting

• Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports
• Conduct earned value analysis (EVA)
• Monitor KPI performance related to schedule and cost
• Present findings to senior management and stakeholders

Risk Management

• Identify project risks related to schedule and cost
• Develop mitigation strategies and contingency plans
• Perform delay analysis and impact assessments

Coordination & Communication

• Liaise with project managers, engineers, procurement, and contractors
• Support contract administration and claims management
• Participate in project meetings and provide planning insights
