Resident Engineer

Job Description

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
• Strong knowledge of construction methods and materials
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
• Leadership and team coordination skills
• Excellent communication and reporting abilities
• Problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Familiarity with contract administration (e.g., FIDIC)
• Proficiency in software such as AutoCAD, MS Project, or Primavera

Experience Requirements

• Typically 8–15+ years of experience in construction or engineering
• Prior experience in site supervision or  project management roles
• Experience in similar projects (buildings, roads, infrastructure, etc.)

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supervise daily construction activities and monitor project progress
• Ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards
• Review and approve contractor submissions (shop drawings, materials, method statements)
• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and consultants
• Conduct regular site inspections and resolve technical issues
• Monitor quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) processes
• Ensure adherence to safety regulations and HSE policies
• Review and certify work progress and contractor payment applications
• Maintain site records, reports, and project documentation
• Chair site meetings and prepare progress reports
• Ensure compliance with contract conditions and project timelines
