Job Description

REQUIREMENTS

• Educational background in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Data Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field is preferred
• Strong knowledge of Python programming
• Ability to explain programming concepts clearly to beginners and intermediate students
• Experience tutoring, teaching, mentoring, or working with students is preferred
• Familiarity with computer science fundamentals such as variables, loops, functions, conditionals, lists, dictionaries, object-oriented programming, and debugging
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Patient, reliable, and professional

Preferred

• Experience teaching K-12
• Experience with AP Computer Science, introductory programming courses, or coding bootcamp support
• Knowledge of additional languages such as Java, JavaScript, C++, or Scratch is a plus
• Knowledge of Harvard’s Python course or similar introductory programming curriculum is a plus

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Tutor students in Python programming and basic computer science concepts
• Explain coding concepts in a clear, simple, and student-friendly way
• Help students with homework, projects, debugging, and exam preparation
• Create a supportive and encouraging learning environment
• Adjust teaching methods based on the student’s level and learning needs
• Provide session updates or progress notes as requested
• Communicate professionally with Park Tutoring regarding scheduling and student progress
