Remote Medical Biller

Job Description

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum 3 years experience in outpatient medical billing
• Behavioral health / psychiatry billing experience strongly preferred
• Familiarity with E/M codes + psychotherapy add-ons (90833/90836/90838)
• Comfortable working independently, remotely, and comfortable working independently and helping stabilize billing workflows during an operational transition
• Will sign Business Associate Agreement (BAA) before accessing PHI

Nice to have:

• Spravato (esketamine) / ketamine billing experience
• IntakeQ experience
• Iowa Medicaid / Wellmark BCBS familiarity

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Review and submit completed claims from our EHR (IntakeQ)
• Flag and prioritize claims at risk of timely-filing limits
• Submit clean claims electronically via clearinghouse
• Light denial follow-up on rejected submissions
• Coordinate handoff with incoming billing vendor at end of engagement
