Job Description
REQUIREMENTS
- Proven experience in corporate or governmental accounting environments with a strong understanding of GAAP and financial concepts.
- Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of payroll systems like ADP or Paychex along with payroll management procedures.
- Experience in account reconciliation, journal entries, balance sheet analysis, and double-entry bookkeeping.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform account analysis and prepare detailed financial reports.
- Excellent math skills combined with attention to detail for accurate data entry and account analysis.
- Prior experience working within public accounting or non-profit organizations is a plus; familiarity with governmental accounting is advantageous.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform detailed account reconciliations for general ledger accounts, including balance sheet and bank reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and collections.
- Prepare journal entries and assist with month-end and year-end closing activities in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, or Workday to record transactions and generate financial reports.
- Support payroll management using systems like ADP, Paychex, Kronos, or UltiPro by verifying payroll data and processing adjustments.
- Assist with internal audits and ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls and other regulatory requirements.
- Conduct data entry with precision using 10-key typing skills while maintaining high levels of accuracy for all financial documentation.
