Vice President – Research Operations

Job Description

REQUIREMENTS

• 12+ years of experience in research management, partnerships, or operations
• 5+ years of experience in a senior leadership role
• Demonstrated success managing multi-million-dollar research portfolios and funding strategies
• Expertise in large-scale grant and partnership portfolio management across academic and industry ecosystems
• Knowledge of blockchain, distributed ledger technologies, or emerging tech research landscapes
• Proven ability in strategic planning and large-scale operational transformation
• PhD in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related research field is highly desirable

Preferred

• Advanced leadership or management certification, such as an Executive MBA
• Established network within research funding agencies and technology innovation ecosystems
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary, multi-stakeholder research programs

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Define and lead the overall research operations strategy to align with enterprise vision and long-term innovation goals
• Oversee a global portfolio of research partnerships with universities, government agencies, and industry consortia
• Lead enterprise-wide grant management and funding acquisition to diversify research revenue streams
• Drive operational excellence by optimizing processes for proposal development, project delivery, and reporting
• Collaborate with C-level executives to integrate research roadmaps into product and software development cycles
• Manage budgets for research programs, ensuring efficient allocation of financial and human capital
• Mentor and lead a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, inclusion, and innovation
• Act as a senior spokesperson and ambassador for the research mission at global conferences and policy forums
