JOB DETAILS
REQUIREMENTS
- Demonstrated knowledge of affordable housing programs
- Strong familiarity with Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) terminology and framework
- Experience editing complex regulatory, legal, policy, or compliance-oriented documents
- Ability to work quickly and accurately in a highly iterative review environment
- Exceptional command of written English, document organization, and editorial judgment
- Ability to identify issues without rewriting for style alone or introducing unnecessary changes
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience developing, revising, or copy-editing Qualified Allocation Plans (QAPs) for state housing agencies
- Experience supporting housing finance agencies or other public-sector housing entities
- Ability to describe prior QAP assignments by state, service scope, and year of engagement
- Client references for comparable QAP work are strongly preferred
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Editing QAP and related materials for accuracy, grammar, clarity, consistency, and readability
- Standardizing terminology, style, formatting, and document structure
- Reviewing cross-references, internal citations, and internal consistency
- Flagging ambiguities, conflicts, and drafting issues for staff review
- Incorporating agency comments and iterative revisions on tight deadlines
- Supporting deliverables across a full QAP cycle, including:
- Draft QAP
- Proposed rule version
- Adopted final version
- Strike-through / redline versions
- Final publication-ready materials
