Senior/Staff AI Platform Engineer

Job Description

REQUIREMENTS

• At least eight (8) years of professional programming experience
• Strong knowledge of systems programming fundamentals: concurrency, networking, and performance profiling
• Experience with distributed systems patterns and reliability
• Proven track record of designing and operating production APIs with strong observability and security considerations
• Ability to define platform requirements and deliver architecture end-to-end

Preferred

• Strong production experience with Rust (Tokio/async, service design, performance tuning)
• Experience building platforms for AI/ML inference, tool execution, or retrieval/grounding systems
• Background in trading systems (order lifecycle, execution, risk checks) or mission-critical financial infrastructure
• Experience with Postgres performance and data modeling in high-throughput environments

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Build the core AI platform that powers a copilot within a new, AI-native trading experience
• Develop a high-performance backend in Rust supporting streaming responses, low-latency tool execution, and reliable model orchestration
• Design robust APIs and runtime components including authentication, rate limiting, auditing, and tracing
• Build safe action infrastructure for trading workflows, such as deterministic order previews and idempotent tool calls
• Partner with product and frontend teams to enable AI-native UX patterns like streaming and grounding
• Translate complex business domains into secure, resilient platform primitives
