• Strong explanatory writing chops.
• Comfort with policy, data, and public records.
• Research or investigative background preferred.
• Digitally native. Comfortable promoting your own stories on social.
• No location requirement. Regional understanding is a plus.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Voter guides and candidate questionnaires. Built in partnership with university and civic partners.
• Civic and policy explainers. How local government works, what SB1 means, healthcare options, school funding.
• Statehouse stories. Reframed for what they mean in St. Joseph County, Indiana.
• Document-driven investigative work. Records research, policy analysis, data investigation.
• Polling and election analysis. Writeups, breakdowns, long-form reference pieces.
