Job Description
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5-10 years of relevant experience are required
- Strong written communication skills; ability to write clear, structured, articulate, and persuasive proposals; able to communicate bold and innovative ideas in a simple, succinct, and convincing manner.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, highly organized, and the ability to work independently.
- Prioritize projects to keep multiple projects moving in a timely manner, meet deadlines, and manage multiple proposals and reports
- A solid understanding of budgets as they relate to proposals and grants
- Experience with proposal writing and institutional donors
- Knowledge and familiarity with research techniques for fundraising prospect research through online sources and direct communication with foundations and corporate funding leadership teams.
- Takes coaching and critical feedback from team members and/or supervisors, intended to improve the quality of work and success within each project
- Strong contributor in team environments
- Comfortable and adept at using Google Suite, Microsoft Office Word, Access, PowerPoint, and Excel, with the ability to learn company grant software
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct the full range of activities required to prepare, submit, and manage grant proposals to foundation and/or corporate sources
- Perform prospect research on foundations and corporations to evaluate prospects for our client to be awarded corporate and foundation grants
- Maintain a calendar to ensure timely submission of letters of inquiry, requests for proposals, proposal deadlines, and reports.
- Communicate with foundations, if needed, to confirm that our organization is within the funding scope for the current opportunity.
- Work with our client’s leadership to make decisions regarding grant program requirements
- (and reporting) Attached to funding opportunities.
- Gather information necessary to report to corporate and foundation funders on current and future grant-funded programs with our client’s Program Team
- Manage existing grants and grant reporting to comply with the requirements of each foundation
- Comply with all grant reporting as required by foundation/corporate foundations.
- Ensure prompt acknowledgment of foundation gifts.
