Rebar Detailer
Job Description
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum: BE or B Tech/ Diploma / Degree in Civil / Structural / Production disciplines
Experience
· 2–5 years in rebar detailing / structural detailing / Cut & Bend operations
· Experience in steel service center / fabrication / construction projects preferred
Knowledge & Skills:
· Proficiency in AutoCAD, CAD RC, Bend Plus or similar detailing software
· Strong understanding of Cut & Bend operations, rebar bending, and fabrication processes
· Attention to detail and accuracy
RESPONSIBILITIES
Detailing & Documentation
- Prepare detailed drawings for cut and bend operations based on project specifications, shop drawings, and structural designs
- Generate accurate cutting and bending schedules, BOMs, and material lists for production
- Review own work for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with standards
- Coordinate with Head of Detailer and Production In-Charge for approvals before release
Production Coordination
- Communicate and clarify detailing requirements with production team
- Ensure timely release of drawings and schedules to meet production timelines
- Assist in resolving discrepancies between drawings and production requirements
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure all drawings comply with engineering standards, project requirements, and production capabilities
- Identify and report potential design or detailing issues that may affect production or quality
- Maintain proper documentation of revisions, approvals, and release
Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures
- Follow company HSE, Quality, and operational policies
- Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for detailing work
- Use approved detailing software and templates
- Maintain proper documentation for drawing releases and revisions
Quality, Health, Safety & Environment (QHSSE)
- Comply with all QHSSE policies and procedures while on shop-floor visits
- Promote safe practices when interacting with production staff or visiting the shop floor
- Report unsafe conditions or incidents immediately to Head of Detailer or Production In-Charge
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve detailing processes and output quality
- Mentor junior detailers and provide guidance on software usage, detailing standards, and accuracy
Working Conditions
- Office / Shop-floor interface environment
- Desk work with computers and detailing software
- Occasional exposure to production areas for coordination and verification
- Regular interaction with production, planning, and quality teams
