Payment Operations Associate

Job Description

REQUIREMENTS

• Understanding of finance, accounting or payments.
• One to three years of experience in payment operations, reconciliation or payment processing.
• Familiarity with North American payment rails such as ACH, wires, card networks, EFT or Interac.
• Strong transaction-data analysis and discrepancy-identification skills.
• Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
• Good communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Basic SQL knowledge is advantageous.

RESPONSIBILITES

• Support daily payment reconciliations across Synctera, partner banks and fintech customers.
• Monitor payment flows, queues, dashboards, alerts and worklists.Investigate payment breaks and exceptions by tracing transaction journeys.
• Identify data, system and process issues and document resolutions.
• Execute reconciliation and approval workflows and flag operational risks.
• Identify recurring issues and opportunities for automation.
• Maintain payment-operations runbooks, procedures and reconciliation guides.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Compliance, Support, banks and fintech customers.
