Job Description

REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in healthcare administration, medical records, medical billing, workers’ compensation, or a related administrative environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies and maintain a high level of accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly learn new software applications.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.

Nice to have:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience with workers’ compensation and medical-legal report processing.
  • Experience reviewing medical documentation or physician reports.
  • Knowledge of California medical-legal billing requirements and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience working with electronic medical records (EMR), billing systems, or document management platforms.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review medical-legal reports and supporting documentation to ensure report completeness, accuracy, and readiness for downstream operational workflows.
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve operational issues that could impact report processing, billing workflows, or timely case completion.
  • Coordinate with physicians and cross-functional teams to resolve report deficiencies, obtain missing information, and facilitate timely report submission.
  • Monitor and prioritize work queues to ensure service level agreements (SLAs), regulatory deadlines, internal key performance indicators (KPIs), and departmental priorities are consistently achieved.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of operational activities, case status, and required follow-up actions.
  • Escalate workflow issues, system limitations, operational risks, and process exceptions to leadership as appropriate.
  • Support standardized operational workflows and adhere to established policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Adapt to evolving workflows, technology enhancements, and operational priorities as MDpanel continues transitioning to a standardized operating model.
  • Provide exceptional internal and external customer service through professional, timely, and effective communication.
  • Participate in cross-training across billing functions and provide operational coverage based on business needs, staffing requirements, and departmental priorities.
  • Assist with special projects, workflow improvements, testing, and operational initiatives that support continuous process improvement and organizational objectives.
