Medical Accounts Receivable Specialist

Job Description

REQUIREMENTS

2–3 years of medical billing experience (required)

Specialty billing experience (preferred):

Physical Therapy (1 year)

Internal Medicine (1 year)

Pain Management (2 years)

Must currently be or have recently been a medical biller

High School Diploma or GED

RESPONSIBILITIES

Follow up on unpaid or denied claims and resolve account balances

Investigate denials and submit corrected claims or appeals

Attend team meetings to address barriers to resolution

Use Waystar and other platforms to manage EOBs, denials, and rejections

Track daily activity and report issues or delays

Maintain accurate documentation and notes

Identify opportunities for process improvements
