Job Description

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience managing comprehensive employee leaves of absence (FMLA, state-specific medical/family leaves, and disability).
  • Deep working knowledge of Oregon (OR) and California (CA) leave laws, compliance, and regulations (Required).
  • Exceptional consulting, communication, and empathetic case-management skills.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and organization skills with a high attention to detail.
  • Solid follow-through and ownership of tasks and client assignments.
  • Strong commitment to high-quality work and professional integrity.
  • Ability to work independently with complete autonomy and manage a flexible workflow.
  • Tech-savvy with strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and virtual data tools.

Preferred

  • HR or leave management experience within the Senior Living industry is a plus.
  • Leave compliance experience or knowledge of additional states outside of OR and CA.
  • Previous experience in a fractional, consulting, per diem, or advisory HR role.

RESPONSIBILTIES

  • Provide remote tracking, administration, and compliance oversight for all types of leaves on an as-needed basis.
  • Navigate and apply state-specific leave laws (such as CFRA, California SDI, and Paid Leave Oregon) to protect client operations.
  • Support the review, audit, coordination, or creation of company leave policies, return-to-work documentation, and employee notices.
  • Address and resolve complex employee leave inquiries virtually via phone, email, or video call.
  • Ensure all case timelines, compliance milestones, and communications are clearly and accurately logged in the LOA tracker.
  • Follow HR best practices to ensure client compliance and mitigate legal and operational risk.
