Job Description

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field — or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years in IT project management or technology delivery, including multiple projects or a significant business-critical project.
  • Experience delivering IT initiatives in operational settings — construction, infrastructure, industrial, manufacturing, field service, or similar.
  • Strong grasp of Waterfall, Agile, and hybrid delivery methodologies.
  • Hands-on with project tools such as Microsoft Project, Project for the web, Azure DevOps, Jira, or Smartsheet.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint).
  • Strong stakeholder management, influencing, and negotiation skills — including where you don’t directly control resources.
  • Comfort managing suppliers and cross-functional teams across geographically distributed locations.
  • Solid understanding of risk, issue, dependency, change, and financial management, plus operational support and transition planning.

Nice to have

  • Project management certification (PMP, CAPM, PMI-ACP, Certified ScrumMaster, SAFe, or equivalent).
  • ITIL 4 Foundation or equivalent IT service management knowledge.
  • Experience with enterprise platforms (ERP, Asset Management, GIS, Service Management, HCM, or similar).
  • Experience with reporting and portfolio tools (Power BI, ServiceNow SPM, Azure DevOps).
  • Background working within a PMO or structured delivery/governance environment.
  • Experience in a global organization supporting distributed teams.

RESPONSIBILITES

  • Analyze project proposals to define scope, timelines, funding, resource needs, and the right delivery approach.
  • Build and maintain project schedules, milestones, deliverables, RAID logs, resource plans, and communication plans within the client’s IT governance framework.
  • Contribute to or lead business cases, project approach documents, and delivery plans.
  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, technical teams, and stakeholders to define clear outcomes, responsibilities, and decision points.
  • Coordinate work across internal teams, external suppliers, and delivery partners to keep projects moving.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and motivation to project team members throughout the lifecycle.
  • Proactively identify and manage risks, issues, dependencies, and opportunities — agreeing mitigation plans and escalating when needed.
  • Track progress, quality, and financials, and deliver accurate status reporting and metrics.
  • Keep sponsors, stakeholders, end users, and partners informed through effective project communications.
  • Ensure solutions meet security, compliance, operational support, and transition requirements.
  • Support business readiness, implementation, transition to support, and post-go-live sustainment.
  • Spot opportunities to improve delivery processes, PMO standards, and portfolio management maturity.
