HR Generalist
Job Description
REQUIREMENTS
- 5–7 years of progressive HR experience, ideally within a creative, tech, or fast-paced environment
- Experience supporting HR operations
- Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills with a service-oriented mindset
- Working knowledge of employment law and employee relations best practices
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and responsiveness
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable working in a dynamic environment
- 2-3 days per week in our NYC office
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the Senior Director of HR in executing core HR initiatives and managing day-to-day operations
- Serve as a first point of contact for managers and employees on HR-related questions, policies, and processes
- Assist in managing employee relations matters, including gathering information, supporting investigations, and helping implement fair and compliant solutions
- Support performance management processes, including goal setting cycles, documentation, performance conversations, and improvement plans
- Provide hands-on support to managers in navigating people challenges, escalating complex matters as needed
- Partner with our Payroll Lead and Central Payroll team on payroll matters, ensuring accurate data submission, timely processing, and resolution of employee inquiries
- Support annual open enrollment, assist employees with benefits-related questions, and help resolve issues in partnership with external vendors as needed
- Maintain and optimize HR systems and employee records, ensuring data accuracy and compliance
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure a seamless employee experience
- Support internal trainings, communications, and broader HR projects such as policy updates and process improvements
