Job Description
REQUIREMENTS
- 8+ years of experience in software engineering.
- 3–4 years of experience in an engineering leadership role, specifically managing Engineering Managers.
- Proven track record of owning delivery predictability at a functional level.
- Experience working in a regulated environment (e.g., fintech, banking, or payments).
- Strong understanding of backend distributed systems and the requirements for operating them in high-stakes environments.
- Ability to work in a 100% remote, globally distributed team.
Preferred
- Background in crypto, Bitcoin, custody, or blockchain-adjacent engineering.
- Experience working within a Team Topologies organizational model.
- Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tooling for test generation or review automation.
- Experience with observability tooling such as Coralogix or Datadog.
- Experience in mobile-first organizations where iOS and Android are core products.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own the unified Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including its definition, governance, and enforcement across all product tribes.
- Drive delivery predictability by ensuring the engineering function consistently ships committed scope on committed dates.
- Provide people leadership to Engineering Managers, overseeing their performance, growth, and hiring.
- Set and enforce engineering standards, including code reviews, retrospectives, and internal quality disciplines.
- Manage backend change management processes to ensure a regulator-ready audit trail for all material changes.
- Lead the engineering tech-debt roadmap and capacity planning.
- Oversee engineering incident response, post-mortems, and the closure of resulting action items.
- Drive the adoption of AI-first engineering standards, including AI-assisted coding, review, and testing.
