Job Description

REQUIREMENTS

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 8–10 years of relevant site experience in construction supervision/inspection.
  • Experience in residential, commercial, high-rise, hospitality, or villas projects is preferred.
  • Good knowledge of electrical construction, inspection, testing, and commissioning.
  • Familiarity with applicable IEC, BS, DEWA/local authority requirements, and project specifications.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, shop drawings, specifications, and method statements.
  • Good communication and coordination skills.
  • Previous experience with a consultant is preferred.

RESPONSIBILITES

  1. Inspect and monitor electrical installation works at site to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and applicable standards.
  2. Review and inspect electrical works including power distribution, lighting, emergency lighting, earthing, cable containment, low-current systems, and equipment installations.
  3. Verify that materials delivered to site are approved and comply with project specifications and approved material submittals.
  4. Inspect installations before, during, and after execution and ensure proper workmanship and quality.
  5. Review and witness relevant inspection requests (IRs), testing and commissioning activities, and ensure that works are completed as per approved procedures.
  6. Monitor the contractor’s progress and ensure electrical works are executed according to the approved project schedule.
  7. Identify defective or non-compliant works and issue/record observations and coordinate corrective actions with the contractor.
  8. Coordinate with civil, architectural, mechanical, and other disciplines to avoid clashes and ensure proper interface between works.
  9. Maintain accurate records of inspections, site observations, testing activities, and outstanding works.
  10. Follow up on snagging, de-snagging, and punch-list activities until satisfactory completion.
  11. Ensure compliance with project HSE requirements and report unsafe practices observed at site.
  12. Attend coordination meetings and provide technical input related to electrical works.
  13. Assist the Senior Electrical Engineer/Resident Engineer in monitoring the contractor’s performance and quality of work.
  14. Review as-built information and ensure that installed works are properly documented.
  15. Perform other duties related to electrical inspection and site supervision as assigned by the management.
