Job Description

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; advanced degrees are a plus.
  • Proven experience with FPGA development, SystemVerilog testbenches, and embedded firmware programming.
  • Strong knowledge of PCB design principles, schematics creation, and CAD tools such as AutoCAD or Revit.
  • Familiarity with SoC architectures (including ARM processors), microcontrollers like Arduino or Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), and surface mount technology (SMT).
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis through debugging tools such as oscilloscopes, ohmmeters, signal analyzers, and vision inspection systems.
  • Experience with simulation software like MATLAB/Simulink and scripting languages including Python or Perl for automation tasks.
  • Mechanical knowledge related to surface mount technology assembly processes and mechanical design considerations using SolidWorks or MicroStation is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems standards (such as NEC), manufacturing processes, and quality assurance protocols.
  • Excellent project management skills with experience in project scheduling and cross-disciplinary collaboration.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills combined with meticulous attention to detail in verifying complex electronic designs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop comprehensive verification plans for FPGA, SystemVerilog, and embedded firmware components to ensure design accuracy and compliance with specifications.
  • Execute simulation-based testing using tools like MATLAB, Simulink, and ModelSim to identify potential issues early in the development cycle.
  • Perform detailed root cause analysis on design failures or bugs, utilizing debugging tools such as oscilloscopes, ohmmeters, and logic analyzers.
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers on PCB layout reviews using AutoCAD, Revit, Revit MEP, and SolidWorks to verify electrical and mechanical integration.
  • Conduct signal processing analysis and system-level testing for electrical systems and vision inspection systems to validate performance under real-world conditions.
  • Support project scheduling by tracking verification milestones and coordinating testing activities across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Assist in firmware development and scripting using Python, Perl, C++, and SystemVerilog to automate testing procedures and streamline validation workflows.
