Job Description

REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Services, or related field (experience may substitute)
  • 1–3 years of experience in accounting, billing, or administrative support
  • Basic understanding of governmental, nonprofit, or grant-funded operations (training provided)
  • Familiarity with Medicaid/BH-MCO billing processes is helpful
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficiency with Excel and accounting software (MUNIS)
  • Ability to handle confidential information responsibly
  • Strong communication, organization, and time‑management skills

Preferred

  • Prior experience in CYS, behavioral health, human services, or county-based programs
  • Knowledge of Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200) or governmental accounting standards
  • Experience with EHR or billing systems

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with job costing, expense tracking, and budget preparation
  • Maintain accurate accounting records for CYS and behavioral health programs
  • Support monthly reconciliations, financial statements, and variance reports
  • Help prepare reimbursement requests, grant documentation, and financial packets
  • Track allowable costs and ensure required documentation is filed correctly
  • Support Medicaid, BH-MCO, and county billing processes
  • Prepare or gather backup for claims, service documentation, and billing submissions
  • Assist with remittance reconciliation, payment posting, and denial follow-up
  • Maintain billing logs, authorization records, and client service data
  • Help ensure financial processes follow Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200), grant rules, and county/state requirements
  • Organize files and documentation for audit preparation
  • Assist with internal control procedures, procurement support, and timekeeping documentation
  • Maintain confidentiality of all client and financial records (HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2)
  • Serve as a secondary point of contact for county agencies, BH-MCOs, and internal teams
  • Prepare reports, spreadsheets, and summaries for supervisors and leadership
  • Support development of SOPs, templates, trackers, and checklists
  • Perform general office and data entry tasks related to finance and compliance
