Job Description
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
- Experience in association management, chapter relations, component relations, volunteer management, nonprofit operations, member services, or a related field preferred. CAE or interest in pursuing CAE preferred.
- Experience working with boards of directors, committees, officers, volunteer leaders, or similar governance structures preferred.
- Experience supporting member recruitment, onboarding, engagement, retention, reactivation, recognition, or customer/member success initiatives preferred.
- Experience planning and executing meetings, educational programs, networking events, conferences, or other member-facing programs preferred.
- Experience supporting sponsorship, advertising, vendor relations, or other non-dues revenue programs preferred.
- Strong writing, editing, proofreading, agenda preparation, minute-taking, and professional communication skills.
- Strong project management, organizational, data management, and follow-up skills.
- Strong customer service, facilitation, diplomacy, relationship-building, and volunteer leadership support skills.
RESPONSIBILITES
- Chapter Governance and Board Support: Works closely with chapter officers, boards of directors, executive committees, and other volunteer leaders to support effective governance, decision-making, accountability, and implementation of board-approved priorities.
- Strategic Planning and Chapter Operations: Assists chapter leaders in developing, maintaining, and executing chapter strategic plans that advance our client’s mission, strengthen the chapter experience, and align with national membership and chapter priorities.
- Meeting Preparation and Follow-Through: Prepares board and committee meeting agendas, supporting materials, minutes, action-item summaries, and follow-up communications so chapter leaders have the information and structure needed to govern effectively.
- Volunteer Leadership Support and Development: Advises, supports, and coaches chapter volunteers; helps leaders understand their roles and responsibilities; encourages effective delegation and succession planning; and assists in identifying and developing future volunteer leaders.
- Member Recruitment, Engagement, Retention, Reactivation, and Recognition: Collaborates with chapter leaders and committees to support local member recruitment, engagement, retention, reactivation, and recognition efforts, including regular review of member data and timely follow-up with new, renewing, expired, and lapsed members.
- Chapter Programs, Events, and Member Value: Manages the development, implementation, production, and evaluation of chapter programs, meetings, events, government relations, grassroots advocacy, PAC initiatives, and services that support the chapter strategic plan and deliver clear value to members.
- Non-Dues Revenue and Sponsor Relations: Assists chapter leaders in identifying, evaluating, soliciting, and servicing sponsors, vendors, advertisers, and other non-dues revenue opportunities that support chapter programs and financial sustainability.
- Chapter Communications and Information Flow: Coordinates timely, accurate, and professional communications among chapter leaders, members, sponsors, national staff, and other stakeholders, including notices, reminders, event information, leadership updates, and follow-up messages.
- Compliance and Administrative Accountability: Helps ensure chapter operations remain consistent with our client’s Chapter Agreement, our client’s Chapter Management Services Agreement, chapter bylaws and policies, board decisions, applicable rules and regulations, and required administrative processes.
- Positive Volunteer and Member Experience: Promotes a rewarding, organized, and responsive experience for volunteers and members by providing professional staff support, anticipating needs, resolving issues, and helping chapter leaders create a culture of engagement, appreciation, and follow-through.
