REQUIREMENTS

• Proven experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms; familiarity with Quicken is a plus.
• Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles, non-profit accounting practices, and governmental accounting standards.
• Knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, journal entries, account reconciliation, and general ledger accounting.
• Ability to perform bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliation, and account analysis accurately.
• Familiarity with payroll processing, tax experience, and financial report writing is highly desirable.
• Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills; proficiency in 10 key typing is advantageous.
• Ability to communicate complex financial concepts clearly and effectively while maintaining confidentiality.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms.
• Perform general ledger accounting and balance sheet reconciliation to ensure all accounts are correctly balanced and discrepancies are promptly resolved.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions efficiently, including invoice entry, payment processing, and follow-up on outstanding balances.
• Prepare journal entries, conduct account analysis, and perform bank reconciliations to ensure the integrity of financial data.
• Assist with payroll processing, tax filings, and governmental accounting requirements to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
• Support budgeting activities by tracking expenses and revenue, providing detailed reports for management review.
• Write clear and comprehensive financial reports, including statements related to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) standards and other regulatory requirements.
