AML Officer

Job Description

REQUIREMENTS

• Deep understanding of AML/CFT legislation, including US BSA/FinCEN and EU AMLDs
• Proven experience building compliance programs from the ground up
• Ability to think systematically about risk management rather than just following playbooks
• Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to make judgment calls in evolving regulatory landscapes
• Strong written communication skills to create clear, defensible, and implementable policies

Preferred

• Prior experience working in fintech, payments, or the crypto industry
• Knowledge of MiCA implications and international regulatory frameworks

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Own and design Altitude’s AML/CFT compliance framework from first principles
• Create KYB policies that balance fraud prevention with efficient business onboarding
• Establish transaction monitoring rules and escalation protocols
• Manage regulatory relationships and reporting obligations, including SARs and required filings
• Design policies compatible with a multi-PSP architecture
• Prepare the company for MTL licensing and evolving regulatory frameworks
• Collaborate with legal teams to interpret emerging stablecoin and crypto-asset regulations
