Payroll Manager

REQUIREMENTS

• Proven experience managing payroll functions within organizations using software such as Workday, Kronos, Ceridian, or PeopleSoft
• Strong understanding of payroll management principles combined with knowledge of accounting software like QuickBooks or similar systems
• Familiarity with federal and state tax regulations, non-profit accounting standards, governmental accounting practices, and related compliance requirements
• Proficiency in financial concepts including general ledger accounting, account reconciliation, journal entries, double entry bookkeeping, and technical accounting practices
• Excellent analysis skills to interpret payroll data accurately and resolve discrepancies efficiently
• Experience with benefits administration processes and human resources systems (HRIS) is highly desirable
• Ability to perform detailed data entry tasks such as 10 key typing with precision in a fast-paced environment

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage and oversee the entire payroll cycle, including data entry, processing, and reconciliation using payroll software such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, or UltiPro
• Ensure accurate calculation of wages, benefits administration, tax deductions, and compliance with applicable laws
• Reconcile payroll accounts through general ledger accounting practices, including journal entries, debits & credits, and account reconciliation
• Collaborate with HRIS systems to update employee records and process new hires, terminations, and changes in compensation
• Maintain detailed records of payroll transactions, benefits administration, and employee data for audit purposes
• Prepare reports on payroll expenses, tax filings, and governmental reporting requirements
• Support accounts payable and receivable processes related to payroll-related expenses and reimbursements
