Job Description

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field OR currently enrolled in an Education program.
  • Experience working with elementary-aged students (grades 2–5).
  • Strong knowledge of reading instruction and literacy development.
  • Reliable internet connection and access to a computer with a webcam.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and families.

Preferred

  • Current or former classroom teacher.
  • Reading endorsement or literacy-related certification.
  • Experience providing virtual instruction.
  • Experience using assessment data to drive instruction.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide engaging one-on-one virtual reading tutoring sessions.
  • Reading comprehension
  • Fluency
  • Vocabulary development
  • Phonics/decoding
  • Reading Skills & Strategies
  • Constructed Responses (R.A.C.E. Strategy)
  • Differentiate instruction based on student needs and skill levels.
  • Create a supportive and encouraging learning environment.
  • Review student data and instructional goals before sessions.
  • Monitor student progress and document session notes.
  • Communicate concerns, successes, and recommendations to the T4P team.
  • Participate in periodic training and coaching meetings as needed.
  • Arrive on time and prepared for all scheduled sessions.
  • Maintain professionalism in all interactions with students and families.
  • Follow Teach4Purpose Tutoring policies and instructional expectations.
  • Protect student confidentiality and maintain accurate records.
