Urban Analyst/Researcher

Job Description

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Urban Planning, Geography, Urban Studies, or a related field
• 2–5 years of experience in urban analysis, planning, or related domains
• Proficiency in GIS software such as ArcGIS or QGIS
• Strong data visualization skills
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Knowledge of urban challenges within the MENA region is highly desirable

Preferred

• Experience with statistical software or programming languages such as Python or R

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Analyze spatial, demographic, economic, and environmental datasets to identify urban trends and patterns
• Use advanced analytics and AI platforms to understand diurnal patterns and urban dynamics
• Integrate diverse data sources including GIS, census, mobile cell data, and surveys to support planning projects
• Provide actionable insights regarding land use, transport, housing, and sustainability
• Conduct research on urban trends, policies, and planning best practices
• Prepare high-quality presentations, dashboards, and technical reports to communicate findings
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams of data scientists and urban planners to solve complex challenges
