Job Description

REQUIREMENTS

• Proven experience as a technical documentation author, quality control, or reporting role within a mechanical, aerospace, or industrial engineering environment.
• Strong technical understanding of mechanical components and assemblies, preferably gas turbines or rotating machinery.
• Excellent written and spoken English, with the ability to write professional reports in English.
• Can interpret engineering manuals, Bill of Materials, Parts Catalogues and other technical documents to extract required information.
• Highly organised, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint) and basic photo editing or documentation tools.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills for effective coordination across the business from the shop floor through to management.
• Basic familiarity with inspection and repair processes.

Preferred:
• Previous experience in aerospace, gas turbine repair, or industrial equipment overhaul report writing.
• Familiarity with maintenance tracking, project planning tools and ERPs (e.g, Excel Gantt charts, Odoo).

Experienced CAD draftsman in creating and drafting part and assembly 3D models and subsequent 2D drawings in SolidWorks would be very advantageous but not required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Photograph and document gas turbine engines and components through the overhaul process.
• Document the condition and decision (accept, repair, reject and replace) of parts through overhaul.
• Ensure accurate completion of overhaul paperwork by the workshop and maintain traceability.
• Collaborate closely with the Production team, workshop technicians and inspectors to capture necessary technical data.
• Produce clear, professional, customer-facing reports on engine condition, repairs, and progress (Receipt, Strip, Repair and Build Reports) with the support of the Engineering Manager.
• Read and interpret OEM manuals to source part and assembly information and verify specifications required for production of reports and other technical documentation.
• Assist in updating overhaul project plans and timelines for customer visibility.
• Contribute to and draft internal and external inspection and repair procedures to support continued business capability development.
• Uphold company quality standards through precise, consistent, and structured documentation.
