RESPONSIBILITES
- Effectively manage coordination with the Client, Consultants, Main Contractor, Subcontractors, Suppliers, Subsidiaries, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure alignment throughout the project.
- Support the pre-contract team in evaluating value engineering options in line with the client’s directives and project requirements. Assess design alternatives to ensure compliance with applicable standards, design intent, and budget constraints.
- Guide and mentor the Technical/Material/BIM team by introducing innovative technical solutions tailored to specialized project requirements. Promote the adoption of cost-effective methods and industry best practices. Supervise and maintain productivity logs for the technical team.
- Strictly monitor and control technical proposals to prevent deviations from the approved design intent and to avoid cost overruns. All changes should be promptly documented in the impact log.
- Issue formal letters and technical correspondence to consultants, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure clarity, accountability, and proper documentation of all technical matters.
- Supervise and maintain logs for all technical design outputs, including models, shop drawings, material submittals, calculations, mock-ups, coordination drawings, schedules, and as-built submissions, ensuring timely preparation, review, and submission in line with project requirements and approvals. Support the implementation of appropriate tools and software to enhance design coordination, accuracy, and efficiency across disciplines.
- Maintain strong client relationships by ensuring dependable performance, timely resolution of engineering queries, and strict control over errors and non-compliance in technical submissions.
- Foster staff retention by building a positive and collaborative team culture, offering genuine support to team members, and encouraging mutual respect, ownership, and professional development.
- Track and analyze engineering KPIs to evaluate each project’s alignment with strategic goals, identifying variances, maintaining high performance percentages, and providing justification for any delays or deviations (see KPIs below).
- Apply strong technical knowledge of fit-out detailing and construction — including joinery, architectural finishes, drywall, ceilings, doors, stone, metal, glass, and other specialist trades — to review and validate technical submissions.
- Drive MEP coordination and multidisciplinary interface management, resolving clashes and technical conflicts between architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines with strong problem-solving ability.
- Take a hands-on role in shop drawing management, material technicalities, RFIs, and the resolution of site technical issues, ensuring prompt and practical solutions.
- Review and lead engineering teams on constructability and sequencing in line with the project program, ensuring full compliance with project specifications and employer’s requirements.
