Senior AI Engineer

Job Description

REQUIREMENTS

• 5+ years of software engineering experience
• 2+ years of experience working with LLM or AI agent systems in production
• Deep expertise in agent architecture, including context management, tool use, and retrieval strategies
• Proven experience building evaluation frameworks and performing retrieval vs. generation failure analysis
• Comfort working across the full stack
• Strong written communication skills with the ability to explain technical decisions to non-technical stakeholders

Preferred

• Background in fintech, payroll, HR tech, or benefits
• Experience with AWS, .NET, Azure, or the Microsoft ecosystem
• Experience generating synthetic evaluation data to bootstrap coverage
• Experience working in early-stage or scale-up environments

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design and ship AI agent systems end-to-end, from early experiments to production
• Own the data access layer, retrieval strategy, and integration with existing infrastructure
• Build and own a custom evaluation framework from scratch, including golden datasets and regression harnesses
• Set the technical direction for AI architecture and identify high-leverage AI opportunities across the product
• Collaborate with the AI Product Lead and Platform team to raise engineering standards through peer review and documentation
