REQUIREMENTS

• Five years minimum in editorial or fact-checking work.
• Strong AP style background.
• Comfort with investigative reporting standards.
• Discipline to be rigorous without slowing the newsroom down.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Copy editing. Grammar, clarity, structure.
• AP style enforcement. Every story, every time.
• Fact-checking. The primary fact-check role in the newsroom.
• Source verification. Cited claims, documents, and attribution.
• Structural review. Before stories go to the Editorial Director.
• Style guide maintenance. Building and updating the outlet’s editorial standards over time.
