REQUIREMENTS
- University Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar field
- Proven experience working in a BDM role in rotating equipment industry
- Proven experience with understanding business / customer needs across a global organisation
- Proven experience in matrix and multicultural environments
- Technical knowledge of all John Crane turbo products
- Strong understanding of turbomachinery systems, their applications, and technical sales processes
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Experience with long sales cycles and high-value capital equipment or services
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify, qualify, and develop new business opportunities in turbomachinery applications
- Lead strategic initiatives including methane emission-related DGS retrofits and upgrades.
- Maintain opportunities database in assigned geographical area
- Build and maintain long-term customer relationships through partnerships, frame agreements, and stakeholder management (OEMs, ISPs, EU teams).
- Support segmentation strategies to target high-value End Users for upgrades and retrofits.
- Deliver technical and commercial presentations to drive customer understanding and adoption.
- Provide expert consultancy across the John Crane Turbo portfolio.
- Liaising with PLM, collect/monitor competitor intelligence and activities, focusing on strengths, weaknesses and the threat to JC & the opportunities for JC.
- Promote new product opportunities through customer dialogue and market analysis.
- Align cross-functional teams (engineering, product, marketing, operations) to deliver tailored solutions
- Identify, research, and pursue new markets, customers, and project opportunities.
- Develop and execute strategies to generate leads and convert them into sales
- Work closely with engineering, product, marketing, and operations to align business goals and deliver tailored solutions
- Provide customer feedback to inform product development or service improvements
- Monitor industry trends, client demands, and competitor activity to inform business strategy
- Identify risks and opportunities in the market landscape
