Project Engineer
Job Description
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Civil / Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 5+ years experience as Project Engineer / Site Engineer in steel structure projects.
- UAE / GCC experience preferred.
- Strong experience in Steel Structure / PEB / Structural Fabrication / Erection.
- Good knowledge of drawings, site execution, cranes/lifting plans.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Driving license preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Execution & Coordination
- Plan, organize, and supervise project activities on site.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal departments.
- Monitor project progress against approved schedules and milestones.
- Ensure proper allocation of manpower, materials, equipment, and resources.
- Conduct regular site inspections and progress reviews.
Technical & Engineering Management
- Review project drawings, specifications, BOQs, and contract documents.
- Coordinate shop drawings, material submittals, and engineering approvals.
- Resolve technical issues and provide engineering solutions during project execution.
- Ensure all construction activities comply with approved drawings and project requirements.
Planning & Monitoring
- Work closely with Planning Engineers to track project schedules.
- Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly project progress.
- Identify delays, risks, and constraints and implement corrective actions.
- Prepare progress reports, project updates, and management presentations.
Client & Consultant Coordination
- Attend project meetings with clients and consultants.
- Follow up on approvals, inspections, RFIs, and technical clarifications.
- Maintain strong professional relationships with stakeholders.
- Ensure client requirements are effectively communicated to project teams.
Quality & Safety
- Ensure compliance with project quality standards and approved procedures.
- Coordinate with QA/QC teams for inspections and testing activities.
- Support HSE requirements and ensure safe working practices on site.
- Participate in safety audits and toolbox talks.
Commercial & Cost Control
- Monitor project costs and resource utilization.
- Coordinate with Quantity Surveying and Procurement teams.
- Review variations, additional works, and change orders.
- Assist in project billing and progress payment applications.
Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
- Maintain project records, site correspondence, and technical documentation.
- Track RFIs, NCRs, material approvals, and inspection requests.
- Ensure all project documentation is properly filed and updated.
