Job Description
REQUIREMENTS
1. Market Knowledge, Commercial Acumen & Mobility
- Mobility: Must possess a valid UAE Driving License (having a personal vehicle is a distinct advantage for commuting between site offices, factory yards, and vendors).
- UAE Market Expertise: Minimum of 5 years of local experience with a thorough understanding of UAE material testing standards, local market pricing benchmarks, and dominant construction material brands..
2. Language & Communication Skills
- English: Full professional fluency (spoken and written) is required to manage daily correspondence, draft LPOs, evaluate localized commercial offers, and interface with UAE-based vendors and project teams.
3. Experience & Education Criteria
- Experience: Strictly 3 to 6 years of dedicated procurement experience within the UAE construction sector, ideally working with tier-one main contractors or reputable developers.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Material Sourcing & Procurement: Source and procure bulk construction materials, including civil structural supplies (ready-mix concrete, steel rebar, blocks, cement), architectural finishes, MEP components, and specialized site equipment.
- Local Vendor Management: Maintain and expand a strong database of qualified local UAE suppliers. Conduct factory audits, supplier evaluations, and performance reviews.
- Commercial Negotiation: Evaluate supplier quotations, perform comprehensive cost-comparison analyses, and negotiate competitive pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules to achieve maximum cost savings.
- LPO & Subcontract Administration: Prepare, issue, and manage Local Purchase Orders (LPOs) and material supply contracts in strict compliance with project budgets and cash flow requirements.
- Technical Compliance Coordination: Collaborate closely with Project Engineers, Quantity Surveyors (QS), and Construction Managers to ensure all procured materials precisely match approved Material Submittals and project specifications.
- Logistics & On-Site Mobility: Monitor delivery timelines and coordinate logistics to prevent site progress bottlenecks. Utilize local mobility to handle urgent on-site material inspections, resolve supplier disputes, and verify material quality firsthand.
