Procurement Engineer – Civil & Contracting
Job Description
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Fluency in Arabic and English is mandatory (spoken and written).
- EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 3–5 years of procurement experience in a Buyer or Procurement Coordinator role.
- Strong experience in indirect procurement, including spare parts, consumables, MRO items, and operational supplies.
- Hands-on experience in sourcing civil work materials and coordinating with contractors.
- Previous experience in the construction industry is mandatory.
- Experience using ERP systems such as Oracle, or similar procurement software is an advantage.
RESPONSIBILITES
- Handle procurement activities for civil work projects, including sourcing construction materials and coordinating with contractors and suppliers.
- Source and procure indirect materials, including spare parts, consumables, tools, PPE, and general operational supplies.
- Obtain quotations, evaluate bids, negotiate pricing, and issue purchase orders. Identify, evaluate, and maintain relationships with reliable suppliers and contractors.
- Coordinate with internal departments to understand procurement requirements and ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
- Monitor supplier performance in terms of quality, delivery, and cost-effectiveness.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and procurement procedures.
- Maintain procurement records, supplier databases, and purchasing documentation.
- Follow up on purchase orders, deliveries, invoices, and payment status. Support cost-saving initiatives through effective sourcing and negotiation.
- Resolve procurement-related issues and ensure uninterrupted supply of materials.
