Permitting Drafter / OSP Designer

Job Description

REQUIREMENTS

• Strong AutoCAD, MicroStation, or similar CAD drafting experience.
• Previous experience preparing permit drawings.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, utility maps, and engineering sketches.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• Reliable computer and internet connection.

Preferred

• Fiber optic design experience.
• OSP (Outside Plant) telecommunications experience.
• Experience with FTTH, FTTX, broadband, or utility infrastructure projects.
• Knowledge of aerial and underground construction practices.
• Familiarity with telecom permitting processes and right-of-way requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare permit-ready drawing packages for municipal, county, DOT, and utility submissions.
• Create and revise OSP fiber construction drawings using CAD software.
• Draft aerial and underground fiber network layouts from engineering markups and field notes.
• Incorporate permit reviewer comments and resubmit revised drawings.
• Maintain drawing quality and compliance with client standards and permitting requirements.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and permitting personnel to meet project schedules.
• Organize project files and maintain accurate documentation.
• Support telecom and broadband infrastructure projects across multiple markets.
