Payment Processing Specialist

REQUIREMENTS

• Proven background in accounting or finance with a focus on payment processing or trade settlement within financial services or banking environments
• Strong knowledge of industry regulations including securities law, financial regulatory compliance, and banking regulatory standards
• Experience with financial analysis, technical accounting, and governmental or corporate accounting practices
• Familiarity with financial concepts such as fixed income markets, investment management, cash flow management, and industry-specific compliance standards
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications—particularly Excel (including pivot tables), spreadsheets, and data analysis tools—alongside experience with financial software systems
• Demonstrated ability to lead or collaborate within teams effectively while maintaining excellent internal communication skills
• Prior experience in fraud prevention techniques, securities law adherence, and regulatory reporting is highly desirable

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Execute daily payment processing activities, including trade settlement, cash management, and transaction reconciliation
• Monitor and detect potential fraud activities using fraud prevention and detection techniques, ensuring secure transactions
• Ensure compliance with securities law, financial regulations, and internal policies such as SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) requirements
• Collaborate with internal teams to support regulatory reporting and industry-specific compliance standards
• Utilize financial software, SQL databases, spreadsheets, and pivot tables for data analysis and reporting purposes
• Communicate effectively with clients and internal stakeholders regarding payment statuses and resolution of discrepancies
• Assist in process improvements by analyzing Excel data and automating routine tasks to enhance operational efficiency
