REQUIREMENTS

• Proven experience in legal document drafting within a law office or legal environment
• Strong knowledge of multiple practice areas including estate planning, business law, family law, securities law, and litigation
• Proficiency with legal research platforms such as LexisNexis and Westlaw
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.
• Exceptional writing skills with keen attention to detail for proofreading and editing complex legal documents.
• Effective interviewing skills for gathering information from clients or witnesses when necessary.
• Experience with project management tools such as PCLaw or similar software enhances workflow efficiency.
• Strong clerical skills including data entry, filing procedures, phone etiquette, and administrative support experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Draft, review, and revise a wide range of legal documents including contracts, pleadings, wills, trusts, and litigation filings with precision and clarity.
• Conduct thorough legal research across multiple practice areas such as estate planning, business law, family law, securities law, patent law, workers’ compensation law, and personal injury law to ensure document accuracy and compliance.
• Manage and organize case files using document management systems to ensure easy retrieval and secure storage.
• Assist attorneys with project management tasks by coordinating deadlines, tracking document revisions, and maintaining detailed records of all drafting activities.
• Perform detailed proofreading and transcription of legal documents to guarantee grammatical correctness and adherence to formatting standards.
• Support legal administrative functions including data entry, filing, and maintaining client records while ensuring confidentiality at all times.
• Utilize legal research tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw to gather pertinent case law or statutory information that enhances document quality.
