Insurance Billing Specialist

Job Description

REQUIREMENTS

– Experience with medical billing and/or insurance claims (behavioral health preferred)

– Familiarity with EOBs, deductibles, copays, and claim follow-up

– Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

– Ability to work independently and communicate clearly

– Experience with EHR systems (SimplePractice preferred, but not required)

RESPONSIBILITIES

– Assist with tracking and locating missing insurance payments (EFTs and paper checks)

– Follow up with insurance companies regarding unpaid or underpaid claims

– Review Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and remittance advice

– Help resolve claim denials and billing discrepancies

– Communicate with payers (BCBS, Aetna, Cigna, UHC, etc.) as needed

– Support organization of billing records and payment tracking

– Assist with occasional administrative or billing-related tasks
