Job Description

REQUIREMENTS

• An engineering, architecture, or quantity surveying background
• Confident reading floor plans and door schedules
• Working knowledge of CAD and Revit (3D modelling not required)
• Ability to interpret FLS drawings and understand their impact on door hardware
• Strong Excel skills and a genuinely detail-oriented, methodical approach
• A Guild of Architectural Ironmongers (GAI) qualification or training is a strong advantage

RESPONSIBILITES

• Reading floor plans to identify and locate every door, and interpreting door schedules to understand each door’s parameters
• Reading FLS drawings to identify escape routes and understanding how FLS requirements shape the hardware specification for each door on that route
• Cross-referencing floor plans, door schedules, and FLS data to build accurate, preliminary hardware (ironmongery) schedules
• Entering finalised data into our bespoke software to generate project hardware schedules
