REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field; advanced degrees preferred.
  • Proven experience in higher education teaching, adult language education, or classroom instruction.
  • Strong writing skills with the ability to develop compelling curriculum content and instructional materials.
  • Familiarity with LMS platforms such as Blackboard or similar learning management systems.
  • Experience with research methodologies, GIS applications, SPSS software, or social work is a plus.
  • Bilingual abilities are advantageous for serving diverse student populations.
  • Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written—and the ability to work effectively with students from varied backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated experience working with students in academic settings or library services is preferred.
  • Knowledge of learning technology tools including LMS systems, Blackboard, and other digital resources relevant to higher education environments. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and deliver engaging English courses tailored to university and adult learners, incorporating innovative teaching methods and learning technology.
  • Design curriculum materials that align with academic standards and institutional goals, utilizing tools like LMS and Blackboard.
  • Conduct research to stay current with best practices in higher education teaching, adult education, and language instruction.
  • Assess student progress through assignments, exams, and projects; provide constructive feedback to support student growth.
  • Facilitate classroom discussions and activities that promote critical thinking, creative writing, and effective communication skills.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development projects and participate in faculty meetings or committees related to educational programming.
  • Support library services by integrating research resources into coursework and guiding students in research methodologies using GIS or SPSS when applicable.
  • Engage in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching effectiveness and stay updated on advancements in learning technology.
