REQUIREMENTS
Diploma (EGG)
Three (3) years (Relevant experience)
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure all equipment is properly calibrated and functioning; verify patient identification and accurately enter demographics, date, and time where applicable.
- Review indications and contraindications for procedures, explaining purposes and clarifying requirements to patients before and during procedures.
- Demonstrate proficiency in connecting leads, analyzing electrocardiograms, identifying cardiac conduction systems, and correlating findings with ECG results.
- Explain lead theory and ensure correct lead placement for accurate readings.
- Apply principles of operation for various instruments used in the non-invasive cardiac unit.
- Assist physicians with procedures such as exercise ECG, transesophageal echo, transthoracic echo, stress echo, and ergometry.
- Connect patients to Holter monitors, blood pressure monitors, and event recorders, ensuring proper setup and functionality.
- Provide clear instructions for handling ambulatory devices and maintain confidentiality of all patient-related information.
- Assist patients with dressing and arrange appropriate transfers, explaining procedures and requirements throughout the process.
- Monitor patient conditions during procedures, record measurements, upload reports to the SAM system, and compile echo records in CD/DVD format for patient use and future reference.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
