Design Engineer

Job Description

REQUIREMENTS

• Proficiency in Figma and design-to-code workflows
• Ability to write production-quality React code
• Experience with Next.js, Vite, and Tailwind CSS
• Experience with component libraries such as shadcn, Radix, or Base UI
• Ability to work effectively in an asynchronous, globally distributed environment
• Experience designing and building for technical audiences or developer tools

Preferred

• Active use of AI tools (Claude, Cursor, etc.) for prototyping and shipping
• A portfolio of personal projects or side experiments that demonstrate curiosity and craft
• Experience working in fast-paced startup environments

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Own the end-to-end design and experience of Supabase marketing and documentation sites
• Develop and ship live pages using modern front-end frameworks like React, Next.js, and Vite
• Evolve the design system and reusable components to ensure consistency and scalability
• Collaborate with Product Marketing, Engineering, and Docs teams to ensure clarity and utility
• Proactively identify site improvements and drive them from concept to deployment
• Refine illustrations, diagrams, and typography to improve technical clarity
