Job Description
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
- 10+ years of relevant design experience.
- Mandatory: Proven experience delivering high-end/luxury projects in the UAE.
- Previous experience in a Design Director, Head of Design, Senior Design Manager, or similar senior role.
- Strong portfolio of completed high-end/luxury projects demonstrating own design work, rather than projects they only managed or supervised.
- Strong knowledge of FF&E, furniture, lighting, carpets, fabrics, finishes, and materials.
- Experience working with furniture factories, manufacturers, suppliers, and workshops.
- Experience with factory visits and production inspections is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of design drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and site execution.
- Good knowledge of procurement, budgets, project costs, and lead times.
- Strong leadership, communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
RESPONSIBILITES
- Lead the overall design direction and creative vision for high-end projects.
- Manage interior design projects from concept through completion.
- Review and approve design concepts, layouts, materials, finishes, furniture, lighting, carpets, and accessories.
- Work closely with project, construction, and site teams to ensure the design is properly executed.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor design quality, materials, finishes, and workmanship.
- Coordinate with interior, architectural, landscape, lighting, and other specialist consultants.
- Review design drawings, technical packages, shop drawings, material samples, mock-ups, and prototypes.
- Manage design changes, upgrades, and modifications while maintaining the original design intent.
- Lead the selection and management of design consultants and negotiate consultancy fees where required.
- Work closely with Procurement and QS teams on FF&E, budgets, costs, and long-lead items.
- Source and approve furniture, lighting, carpets, fabrics, finishes, and other interior materials.
- Coordinate directly with furniture manufacturers, suppliers, and workshops for bespoke and custom-made items.
- Visit furniture factories and workshops to inspect production, materials, prototypes, finishes, and workmanship.
- Resolve quality and production issues with suppliers and manufacturers.
- Lead and mentor the design team and ensure timely delivery of design requirements.
- Work with Sales and Marketing teams on show apartments, sales galleries, presentations, brochures, and other design materials.
