Cost Control Manager
Job Description
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
- Professional certification in Project Controls, Cost Management, Quantity Surveying, or related fields is desirable.
- Minimum 15–18 years of experience in cost control/project controls within the construction industry
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and manage project budgets, cost plans, and cash flow forecasts.
- Establish cost control systems, procedures, and reporting standards.
- Monitor project expenditures against approved budgets and identify variances.
- Ensure effective cost tracking and cost allocation for all project activities.
- Prepare and review monthly cost reports, forecasts, and financial summaries.
- Analyze cost overruns, savings, and trends, and recommend corrective actions.
- Monitor earned value, productivity, and cost performance indicators.
- Provide accurate cost data to management for decision-making.
- Coordinate with commercial and contracts teams on change orders, variations, and claims.
- Review cost impact of design changes and scope variations.
- Ensure variations are properly evaluated, approved, and recorded.
- Work closely with project managers, planners, quantity surveyors, and procurement teams.
- Support procurement with cost evaluations and vendor negotiations.
- Assist in value engineering and cost optimization initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with contractual terms, company policies, and project procedures.
- Identify cost-related risks and opportunities and implement mitigation measures.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls, audit requirements, and financial standards.
- Maintain accurate cost records and documentation.
