Bookkeeping Lead
Job Description
REQUIREMENTS
- 5+ years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting operations
- 2+ years of experience leading or mentoring team members
- Strong understanding of S-Corp and Sole-proprietor bookkeeping
- Experience working in a high-volume, tech-enabled services environment
- Data-driven mindset with comfort using dashboards and performance metrics
- Strong process design, documentation, and workflow optimization skills
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and develop a team of offshore bookkeepers, driving high performance, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Manage performance targets across quality, productivity, SLAs, and automation adoption
- Optimize core workflows including month-end close, payroll, onboarding, and year-end processes
- Use data and reporting to identify trends, resolve bottlenecks, and elevate team performance
- Manage BPO partner relationships to ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery
- Partner cross-functionally with Tax, Support, and Product teams to improve the customer experience
- Increase automation adoption to reduce manual work and enable scalable growth
- Maintain strong internal controls to protect accuracy, compliance, and customer trust
