Board Advisor 

Job Description

REQUIREMENTS

• Proven experience in public health, nutrition, food systems, or child development in African contexts.
• Deep commitment to equity, justice, and culturally grounded care.
• Strong network of health-focused organizations, funders, or policy influencers across Africa.
• Strategic thinker with cross-cultural fluency and systems-level perspective.
• Experience advising or serving on nonprofit boards preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Program Guidance

• Advise on initiatives that improve food access and nutritional outcomes for children in African communities.
• Support the design of regionally responsive programs, including school feeding, agricultural innovation, and maternal-child health integration.
• Help shape impact metrics and evaluation frameworks tailored to local realities.

Partnership Development

• Cultivate relationships with African NGOs, ministries, and grassroots organizations focused on child nutrition.
• Co-create engagement strategies with schools, clinics, and community leaders across francophone, anglophone, and lusophone regions.
• Support grant applications and donor outreach focused on food security and child wellness.

Advocacy & Visibility

• Contribute to strategic communications and campaigns that elevate child food insecurity as a justice issue.
• Advise on storytelling platforms that highlight lived experiences and community-led solutions.
• Help position Paraklet as a trusted partner in child health, nutrition, and food equity across Africa.

Board Collaboration

• Participate in quarterly board meetings and strategic planning sessions.
• Serve as a thought partner to the Executive Director and Program Director.
• Mentor emerging leaders and contribute to a culture of inclusion and innovation.
