Job Description

REQUIREMENTS

• Proven experience in accounts payable, bookkeeping, or related accounting roles with a strong understanding of accounting systems such as Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, or ADP
• Solid knowledge of GAAP principles and governmental accounting standards is preferred
• Proficiency in financial software including Paychex, Kronos, UltiPro, or similar platforms; experience with Excel data analysis is highly valued
• Familiarity with technical accounting concepts such as double-entry bookkeeping, journal entries, and account analysis
• Excellent numeracy skills combined with attention to detail for accurate data entry and account reconciliation
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to adapt to various financial software tools and demonstrate a good understanding of payroll management systems like ADP or UltiPro

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Process and verify vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
• Prepare and review accounts payable transactions, including journal entries and account reconciliations
• Manage data entry within various financial software systems such as Workday, SAP, Oracle, or QuickBooks
• Conduct balance sheet reconciliations related to accounts payable and ensure timely resolution of discrepancies
• Support month-end closing activities by preparing reports and assisting with audit requests in accordance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls
• Maintain detailed records of all transactions, including invoice documentation, payment approvals, and vendor correspondence
• Assist with accounts receivable management and coordinate with other departments on payment schedules and billing inquiries
